Would It Be More Fun To Have An "Inhuman" Sub-Table?

I posted the table and sub-tables for Body Powers.  I mentioned that the Inhuman Power was an undefined Meta-Power where the player gets to choose in what way he is inhuman.  But, would it be more fun if I had a sub-table for this?  It would have entries such as:
  • Robot
  • Human-variant (for your Eternals, Inhumans, Deviants, and, specific to my setting, the Ultra)
  • Mystic Construct (i.e. Golem)
  • Alien
  • God
  • Energy Being (like Wonder Man in certain versions or someone composed or living flame)
Does that seem more fun than just letting the player define it?

  1. Putting "God" on the random tables is always a good idea.

  2. Nah, don't put God, put 'the Gods' because that opens it up much, much further ;-)

  3. The more I think about it, the more I think that I should err on the side of more sub-tables rather than less BUT with some clear text that the group should decide whether to use them or not. Sort of explicitly talking about dialing the randomness up or down as desired.

So, I'll be working on these sub-table with enough inhumans to shake a stick at (whatever that means).

  4. Here's what I have so far:

    -Robot/Android
    -Alien
    -Human-variant
    -Energy Being
    -God / Demi-God
    -Demon
    -Ghost
    -Monster
    -Golem

    Thoughts?

  5. I'd put robot+golem in the same column. Same with Alien+God/Demigod/Demon and Human Variant. They're all a form of alien just with different trappings and flavor. Energy Being and ghost could be combined, similarly. Makes fewer charts and lets someone who make a "Type" of character tailor the flavor to get a specific definition of said character.

  6. I definitely agree with the Robot/Golem combo; call it "Construct". But I think that most of those others are recognized separate tropes in comics. I've added a box saying that if you want to give the player more choice, ignore the sub-tables such as this.
